FAQ

What is the secret behind this trick?
The secret is the kitchen roll inside the mug. It absorbs the water when you pour it in, so when you turn the mug upside down, no water spills out, making it seem like the water has disappeared.
Can I use something other than a kitchen roll?
Yes, you can try using a sponge or a piece of cloth, but it should be able to absorb the water completely and fit discreetly at the bottom of the mug.
Why is it important that the kitchen roll can’t be seen?
For the trick to seem magical, the audience shouldn't know that there is a kitchen roll in the mug. If they can see it, they might guess how the trick is done.
My water spilled when I turned the mug upside down. What went wrong?
Make sure the kitchen roll is pushed firmly to the bottom of the mug, and that it is big enough to absorb all the water you poured in. You may need to adjust the amount of water or the size of the kitchen roll.
