Red Light, Green Light

A classic outdoor game where players move towards a goal when the signal is ‘green’ and must freeze on ‘red.’

Step 1- Choose the ‘Traffic Light

Select one player to be the 'Traffic Light.'

Step 2- Set Up the Playing Area

Designate a starting line for all players and a goal line where the 'Traffic Light' will stand.

Step 3- Green Light

The 'Traffic Light' shouts 'Green light!' allowing players to move towards the goal.

Step 4- Red Light

Suddenly, the 'Traffic Light' shouts 'Red light!' and turns to face the players. Everyone must freeze.

Step 5- Caught Moving

If players are caught moving after 'Red light,' they return to the starting line.

Step 6- Reaching the Goal

The first player to touch the 'Traffic Light' or reach the goal wins and becomes the new 'Traffic Light.'

The Rules

Rule 1

Players must stop immediately on 'Red light.'

Rule 2

'Traffic Light' must turn away from players on 'Green light' and face them on 'Red light.'

Rule 3

No pushing or running into other players.
